History
From the time he was a young boy, Rob Steele was taught by his father basic carpentry skills as well as the value of hard work. After college in the early 70s, he established a residential framing company. By taking care of business, he developed strong relationships with local builders and in 1981, along with his wife, Kathy, formed R&K Contractors, Inc.. |
 |
| Rob devoted his time to jobsite management and qualtiy control, while Kathy was in charge of human resources and accounting. In the early 80s, R&K Contractors experienced incredible growth by expanding its scope of work to include multi-family complexes. |

Due to the slow down in the Central Texas market during the late 80s, it became necessary to contract work in other areas of the country. As a result, crews traveled to both the East and West coasts where thousands of units of housing were completed. |
By the early 90s, construction once again picked up in the central Texas region. R&K reorganized to focus on commercial projects in the Austin Metro area, including hotels, restaurants, and churches, as well as public sector work. Since that time, Rob and Kathy have continued to develop solid relationships with developers, owners, suppliers and other contractors.
Today, they have a team with a proven track record of commitment, knowledge and the persistence necessary to finish a project on time and in budget.
